Either side of the Alaskan cruise my wife and I had in June 2008, we spent a few days with friends in Hamilton just south of Toronto, and the airport we flew in and out of from England..
First there was the trip to the Niagara Falls, incredible for their size and sheer volume of water flow. Then we drove via the Mennonite colony in St Jacobs to Sombra on the St Clair River.
The following day we drove to the Henry Ford Museum and Detroit for our flight to Alaska.
On the return journey we stopped off at Fort Malden and Point Pelee.
We also managed to catch up with a couple of my wife's old school friends who now live in Canada.
