Torshavn- the islands's capital

Travelling Around

Although a bunch of mountain tops sticking out of the Atlantic Ocean equidistant from Iceland, Norway and Scotland is not a holiday destination that immediately springs to mind, particularly with an average summer temperature of 11C, when a special offer came up on the internet, it was an opportunity not to be missed. Although we had some rain on each day, we were blessed with absolutely glorious weather on one of the days: which may have tinted our view of the place.

The major drawback was that our hotel was about an hour's walk uphill (very much uphill) out of Torshavn, though the view was worth it.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to go back and spend longer there. Maybe one day, it's only been some 25 years since I first thought about it!
